Roku's original content removes a few ads while content licensed from other providers are usually a full 2 minutes. So the additional ads are probably to cover the cost of licensing. Cord cutting is better than cable simply due to the flexibility. It is a pain in the ass to make changes to or terminate cable service. Cord cutting requires a little more effort to manage if saving money is a priority but starting and stopping services is generally painless.
